Andorra 2003

We visited Soldeu El Tarter in Andorra for a week of skiing during the week before Easter 2003.

El Xalet

We stayed in the El Xalet Hotel, a small hotel run by the tour company (accommodation for about 30) in a village called El Tarter, which appears only to exist for the skiing. We were there for the last week, the hotel shuts over Summer.

Another view from outside the hotel, in this case a courtyard. The hotel is part of a complex of similar buildings, courtyards and alleys.

View from outside the hotel towards a waterfall on the adjacent hill. The skiing slopes are behind the camera in this shot.

A view out of the bedroom window just before we departed. It's just started raining, the only bad weather on the trip.

Another view of the dining room, this time during afternoon tea. There's a television in the corner where we could watch DVDs from the hotel's collection.

Scenery

Some random scenes taken on the descent from Tossal de la Llosada to Riba Escorxada. This pink band arises because my camera has a dodgy back which lets in the light.

Escorxada

Escorxada is the first port of call on the chair lift from El Tarter. It is where we attended ski school and spent most of our time.

Looking up at the chairlifts from the hotel. The one on the right leads to Escorxada, the one on the left was closed.
