The "Grand Hotel Excelsior", where we stayed has a private beach.
You get to this by taking the hotel bus the top of a cliff and then taking two
lifts down to a cave where a tunnel leads out to the beach. The day we went it
started raining after about an hour so we didn't do much sunbathing. The beach
was all pebbles and the tide didn't do very much while we were there.
We shared the cove with a commercial beach. The
unlucky users of this have to use the staircase you can see running up the
cliff in the background. The road runs atop the big arch. The yellow and blue
umbrellas and the nearer buildings belong to the hotel.
